Ravi Ashwin 'the Bradman of bowling' says former Australia captain Steve Waugh

The BCCI has announced the squad that will face the Steve Smith led Australian team in the upcoming cricket series in India.

By the sheer dint of their record 19-Test unbeaten streak and the formidable home run in the last couple of years, India may start as Goliath, but Australia will be no David, said Steve Waugh in Monaco on Tuesday. The southpaw who had announced himself on the world stage with a sparkling 187 on debut, ironically against the Australians in 2013, had fractured his thumb in the second Test against New Zealand in Kolkata past year, and was not picked for the Tests against England and Bangladesh.

One of the greatest fast bowlers to have played for Australia and one of Waugh's teammates during the 1990s and the early 200s, Glenn McGrath felt the current Australian pace bowlers need to step up their game in order to inflict damage on the famed Indian batting line-up. Smith has been in brilliant form for Australia in Test cricket and he is 38 points of India's captain Virat Kohli, who is number 2 in the latest ICC Test rankings with 895 points.

He went on to say that Mitchell Starc will be the team's major weapon while attacking India. "We are ready to go". So, I have different game plans where I play, and how I play spin.

"Preparation has been good, really happy with where all the lads are at and now it's a case of going to play". I think the moment you just start defending then you are probably in trouble. "You don't want to give the opposition any chance to get back", he concluded. They are also playing a lot at home. "The guys need to stay calm under pressure", said Waugh. I think all the guys are really excited about what's to come in the next six weeks.
