Ashley Mead, the 25-year-old mother who was reported missing earlier this week, is believed to have been killed and her body partially dismembered, with some parts left in various places across several states and in a suitcase, the Boulder Police Department said Friday.

Adam Densmore, the father of 24-year-old Ashley Mead's young daughter, was arrested outside of Tulsa, Oklahoma on Wednesday.

Boulder police spokeswoman Shannon Cordingly said the human remains discovered in a dumpster not far from where Densmore was arrested have not yet been identified, but that police are presuming Mead is dead.

His daughter, who authorities said was not harmed, was placed in the temporary custody of Child Protective Services in Oklahoma.

Boulder Police say if anyone sees a suitcase in an odd location, they should not touch it and instead call local law enforcement. That statement added that Densmore was suspected of discarding body parts in a "variety of communities".

Trump bashes Mark Cuban's intelligence after his warning to CEOs
Cuban said in 2015 he wouldn't run for president but called it a "fun idea to toss around". It wasn't immediately clear why Trump lashed out at Cuban, seemingly without provocation.

Based on preliminary identification of the body, Adam Densmore was jailed on a first-degree murder charge.

"At this point the arrest warrant is still sealed", Cordingly said. Okmulgee Police Chief Joe Prentice was not able to answer questions because he was in meetings with investigators, according to his staff. Police said Densmore then left Conway and went stopped in Oklahoma before being arrested in Tulsa on February 15.

Police say body parts found this week in Okmulgee have been tentatively identified as a missing Colorado woman's and ask for the public's help as they believe more of her remains have yet to be found. Detectives believe that Densmore left Boulder on Sunday evening and traveled south to Raton, N.M. He then continued south and east through the Texas panhandle before arriving in Haughton, Louisiana on Monday evening. The pair hadn't been seen since Sunday. Police think Densmore then drove to Oklahoma by way of Arkansas. On the morning of February 15, he left Conway, Arkansas and stopped in Okmulgee, Oklahoma before being located and arrested just west of Tulsa, Oklahoma at approximately 1:30 p.m.

Anyone with information regarding the whereabouts of Mead is asked to contact the Boulder Police Department at 303-441-1974.Those who have information but wish to remain anonymous may contact the Northern Colorado Crime Stoppers at 1-800-222-TIPS (8477).
