2 police officers, suspect shot in Whittier

The officers were responding to a vehicle collision around 8 a.m. Monday in the area of Mar Vista and Colima Road when the shooting occurred, according to Whittier police Officer John Scoggins.

One police officer was killed and another wounded when gunfire erupted after a auto crash in Southern California.

The victims were two Whittier Police Department officers and a suspect, said Deputy Juanita Navarro-Suarez of the Los Angeles County Sheriff's Information Bureau.
