Renault can 'dream of podium' if RS17 hits target, says Jolyon Palmer

Renault became the first F1 team to reveal a 2017 vehicle in the flesh after unveiling its new contender at an event in central London on Tuesday.

Ahead of his second season in F1 Jolyon Palmer is excited. and not only at the fact he can now eat more.

Renault Sport F1 managing director Cyril Abiteboul, who has effectively been running the team since the abrupt departure of principal Frederic Vasseur in January, said the key word for the year ahead was "integration".

"At the end of the day, it's a team effort and everyone is important, but ultimately the two drivers have to deliver on the track".

"What I know is that we started from scratch, which was quite fearless because we had a good product a year ago that was quite decent, more than decent actually", he said, when asked by Autosport about performance gains. This implies that the Renault engineers may have finally split the turbine and compressor - which makes for great packaging advantages over the conventional joint housing because of the way the inlet and cooling pipes can follow a shorter route. They appear very different and I'm looking forward to hearing the reactions of the fans. Race by race we've got an introduction of new parts.

Also confident was Abiteboul, who said at the launch that Renault's target for the year was to finish in the points at every race. "The RS17 is the result of many long working hours spent over our two integrated locations and the result it a vehicle we can be proud of". "For 2017 we are perfectly placed to take the step forward we all desire", the Frenchman said in London on Tuesday.

There were also too many zany situations that only had me rolling my eyes, not making me laugh like they were supposed to. The movie works best when it finds a balance between flatly familiar and over-aggressively unexpected.

Americans are now more stressed
And not only did overall stress increase, what we found in January is the highest significant increase in stress in 10 years. In August, 71 per cent of Americans reported feeling a physical or emotional symptom of stress at least one day that month.

California rain: Flash flooding possible in SoCal as officials watch Oroville dam
Officials say residents south of the dam should stay alert and up to date as the rains pass through the area. Temperatures, meanwhile, will be mostly in the low 60s Friday, slipping a few degrees Saturday.

Meanwhile, Sergey Sirotkin has been confirmed as Renault's third and reserve driver for the upcoming season. The way also we get the engine into the vehicle is different.

Part of Renault's confidence can be put down to the usual pre-season excitement, those glory days between launch and testing in which everyone's auto is a potential victor.

Although the nose of the vehicle is visually simpler to last years, that's about the only similarity.

"During the winter, the factories at Enstone and Viry have been alive with action".

"I know these sessions are an important element of race preparation for the team". A new chief of aero, Pete Machin from Red Bull, will have had no input into the RS17, the aero of which has been overseen by Jon Tomlinson, who now reverts to deputy chief, both under the technical directorship of long-time Enstone stalwart Nick Chester.
