Blizzard Teases Overwatch Character Efi Oladele, Possible New Hero

There's a lot of speculation that Efi might be the next new character in Overwatch, making her the 24th hero. According to Game Director Jeff Kaplan, however, that may not be the case after all. Further down the thread, Kaplan was asked why a number of existing characters haven't received new emotes. Right now, we feel like introducing a new hero to the line up would be more impactful to the game.

Time will tell who we'll be playing as next in Overwatch, and we can't wait to find out.

He went on to explain the delay has something to do with prioritization.

Should the teaser prove true, Efi would be the 24th hero added to the roster in Overwatch, with much more in the works. Apparently, they do first "what makes the biggest impact for the most people". This statement alone has many Overwatch players sure that Efi is developing the game's next fighter, not the new playable hero herself. Will Doomfist ever make an appearance? The eye symbol is similar to Efi's facial paint, there is a robot of sorts that looks like a spider and its symbol is connected to the gauntlet of Doomfist. Being the 24th and next Overwatch hero in the shooter game appeared to be a sure ball at that time.

However, he's since responded to YouTuber TheKingFenrir to deny that, saying he was playing a character speaking Greek (presumably for the Ilios map). He later removed any reference to Greek, but hawk-eyed fans managed to archive it online.

Lucas Perez denies he wants to leave Arsenal amid AC Milan speculation
It is unknown if the 67-year-old will sign an extension and his decision on his future is set to come in "March or April". Given a rare start on Monday, Perez opened the scoring in Arsenal's 2-0 win over Sutton United in the FA Cup.

Namely, who's the next hero? So this could very well point to a character already in final production.

Some speculated that she may eventually become a playable, adult character since the blog post is dated 21 February, 2017, and the game is actually set "around 60 years in the future".

A post on 4chan earlier this year claimed to leak several upcoming events and new content for Overwatch, including the Lunar New Year event and more focus on Mei. Whether or not Doomfist will be one of these three remains to be seen, thought it seems likely that an altogether new hero will emerge to wear the powerful artifacts.

As to why "Overwatch" character emotes take so long, the game director said multiple events and heroes are now in the works.
