Ersan Ilyasova traded to Hawks for Tiago Splitter, per report

Turkish forward Ersan Ilyasova, enjoying a career-best season, was traded from the Philadelphia 76ers to the Atlanta Hawks for injured Brazilian center Tiago Splitter as the National Basketball Association trade deadline neared. The 76ers have the right to swap another second-round pick.

The Hawks will send center Tiago Splitter and a 2017 second-round draft pick via the Miami Heat to the Sixers, league sources said. Ilyasova will likely be the first big man off the bench, which bumps Mike Muscala down the totem pole a bit but gives them tremendous depth up front heading into the home stretch and playoffs.

The Hawks sit in the No. 4 spot in the Eastern Conference exiting the All-Star break. He hasn't played at all this season with a calf strain and only averaged 5.6 points and 3.3 rebounds in an injury plagued 2015-16 season. It becomes the second time this season Ilyasova has been traded, as he was acquired by Philadelphia from the Oklahoma City Thunder on November 1. He is averaging 14.8 points and 5.9 rebounds in 56 games for the 76ers.

Ilyasova has been solid since he was added to the Sixers roster at the beginning of the season, but it's clear Philadelphia is still in "process" mode.
