At the time, Sandy Alderson called it a mild strain and said the expectation was for Wright to probably miss about three weeks.

The Mets are not concerned at this point that the 34-year-old Wright's career could be over, Alderson said.

The Mets have shut down third baseman David Wright's throwing program and sent him back to NY to undergo tests on his right shoulder, general manager Sandy Alderson announced Tuesday. Wright is owed $67 million by the Mets over the next four seasons. Reyes played 50 games at third last season after re-joining the Mets as a free agent last June.

February 24, 2017 - The Mets raise eyebrows by having Wright, still recovering from that surgery last June, throw in private away from the media.
