In Bhopal, Madhya Pradesh home minister Bhupendra Singh said that special medical teams have been sent and an investigation would be conducted.

In a major development in connection with Bhopal-Ujjain passenger train explosion, Madhya Pradesh's IG (Law and Order) Makrand Devaskar confirmed on Tuesday that the train blast was a terror attack.

Centre has sought report from Madhya Pradesh government on blast in Bhopal Ujjain Passenger in Shajapur district of Madhya Pradesh that injured eight people and Railway is linking it to another sabotage attempt.

The blast that took place at 9.50 AM in the general class compartment of the train in Shajapur district of the state.

All the passengers of the affected train were taken to Ujjain by another train.

The state government has announced a financial assistance of Rs 50,000 each to the seriously injured persons and Rs 25,000 each to the other injured passengers. "The reason behind the explosion could not be ascertained", Economic Times quoted IA Siddiqui, PRO, Bhopal Division of Indian Railways, as saying.
