Todd Fisher says mom Debbie Reynolds asked for 'permission' to die

Carrie Fisher and Debbie Reynolds will be remembered at a public memorial in Hollywood on Saturday, following their deaths just a day apart.

The Twilight star has been by Billie's side since she lost her mom Carrie Fisher and her grandmother Debbie Reynolds in a back-to-back tragedy at the end of previous year. Reynolds suffered a stroke and died one day after her 60-year-old daughter died following a heart attack. Debbie's son, Todd said "she wanted to be with Carrie", revealing the heartbreaking news to our sister site Variety.

The service will feature a tribute song written by musician James Blunt as well as performances by the Gay Men's Chorus of Los Angeles and dancers from the Debbie Reynolds Studio and dance school. "I have film of that and it will be in the memorial.' And when I was editing that, it ripped my heart out".

The iconic Star Wars princess passed away on December 27 after spending four days in the hospital following a medical emergency she suffered while on flight from London, according to CNN.
