Following the launch of the feature, which was first seen on Snapchat, later on Instagram, WhatsApp and Messenger now Mark Zuckerberg has incorporated "Story" on Facebook as well. Snapchat CEO Evan Spiegel declined the offer and it was probably then that Facebook made a decision to move from a text based social networking platform to a video and image based one, after all that's what the users want. "When you send a photo or video via Direct, your friends will be able to view it once and replay it or write a reply", he added.

Facebook is taking on Snapchat in their latest update to their mobile apps, adding stories to their app allowing you to share a stories with your friends and followers. These photos and videos, which disappear after 24 hours, won't appear in the user's timeline unless the post them there too.

Starting from today, Facebook users can now share their "Facebook Stories" on the Facebook app.

Facebook is also including guest art from visual artists like Douglas Coupland and Hattie Stewart, who will create in the camera to give users new effects to explore.
