Olivia Newton-John has a new cancer diagnosis; June shows are postponed

Lattanzi took to Instagram on Wednesday to "thank all of you for your love and support" after the singer, 68, announced Tuesday that she was putting her US and Canadian tour on hold after discovering she has breast cancer that has metastasized to the sacrum, according to the statement.

Newton-John has discovered that her recent back pain is being caused by breast cancer that has metastasized to her sacrum.

Olivia was first diagnosed with breast cancer in 1992 - on the same weekend that her father passed away - and was given the all-clear after undergoing chemotherapy and a mastectomy.

Newton-John has been a chart-topper since the 1970s with songs that stretch into pop, folk and country but she became best-known for starring in the 1978 musical comedy "Grease" alongside John Travolta.

Olivia has promised she will be back fighting fit and will reschedule her shows soon.

Chloe, who is Olivia's only child, thanked fans on an Instagram photo, adding: "My mom and best friend is going to be fine!"

"Our thoughts are with her and we sure hope she beats it", Dockter said. All my love to you.

"Some woman commented that I couldn't post happy pictures of myself because of what my mother is going through", Chloe wrote.

In a statement posted on her official Facebook account, the four-time Grammy award victor revealed that the back pain she has been dealing with in the past few weeks is the result of the breast cancer spreading to her spine.

"That usually means it's very treatable", she said.

"My mom and I are humans and unfortunately my mother's cancer has to be everyone's business", she continued.

That experience helped make her nearly as famous for her cancer advocacy as her best-selling songs.

"This is something that 10 years of her life will be about trying to control this", she said.
