The Trumps Funneled $100K Meant For Cancer Charity Into Own Pockets

A report published on June 6 alleges that $100,000 of the charity money Eric Trump raised for pediatric cancer research went straight to his father's company.

In an interview with ABC News that aired Tuesday, Eric Trump asserted that the Trumps have no dealings with Russian Federation and no projects with Russian Federation. The report also claims that donations made directly to the Eric Trump Foundation were used to pay for services at Trump golf courses after donors had been led to believe their money was going completely to St. Jude. No credit?' And he went nuts. The one-day tournament takes place on a Trump-owned golf course, and the president's son has previously stated that most of the expenses for the tournament - including the Trump-owned venue - were "comped".

He reportedly told Forbes that almost all the money contributed to the foundation goes toward St Jude because his charity has been able to use the Trump family's golf course in Westchester County, New York, for free.

It's an unfortunate cloud over Eric Trump's charitable work - he has reportedly donated millions to St. Jude's, as he pointed out on Twitter following publication of the Forbes report.

The Eric Trump Foundation, in effect, became just another way for Donald Trump to make money.

"They were wearing two hats", says Langan, the former director of golf, who says he sat in on meetings where he couldn't tell where the business ended and the charity began.

Newcastle United close in on Tammy Abraham loan deal

In an interview with Forbes for the story, Eric Trump said on two separate occasions that the Trump Organization, which he now manages with his brother while his father serves as President, didn't charge his charity for the use of its amenities.

In a statement sent to Fahrenthold late Tuesday, Eric Trump said the Trump Organization did not "profit" from the golf fundraiser.

In the first several years of Eric Trump's foundation, the golf tournament seemed to be functioning relatively normally, with expenses averaging about $50,000-higher than you would think would be necessary if the golf course was being offered for nothing, but not out of bounds.

"My father has contributed so much to the foundation - without our properties, [the Eric Trump Foundation] for all practical purposes, wouldn't exist", Eric Trump told the Washington Post, adding that he has received "hundreds of thousands of dollars" in donations from his father. As Eric would tell donors, and repeated to Forbes, since the event was hosted by the course, there was virtually no overhead.

Trump then essentially laundered money through the tournament by having his foundation donate to his son, in order to cover the event fees that the Trump Organization was now being paid.
