Manhunt on for LeT terrorist behind attack on Amarnath pilgrims

In the aftermath of the recent terror attack on Amarnath pilgrims, the Centre on Wednesday asserted that militancy in Jammu and Kashmir is going to outlive its life soon.

The Russian Embassy in a statement termed the Monday night terror attack in which seven pilgrims were killed a "terrible crime against humanity, which dramatically shows that worldwide terrorists do not respect any faith or religion, that they are ready to conduct barbaric acts to reach their outrageous aims".

"We all believe this is not what Kashmir stands for", the CM said.

Earlier, State Department Spokesperson Heather Nauert had expressed concern over the terror attack.

"These were civilians, they were killed as they were exercising their right to worship and that is, in large part, what makes this so reprehensible". India also blames the group for a 2008 attack that left 166 people dead in India's commercial capital of Mumbai. "Deepest condolences to the families and all those affected", she said. Our thoughts and prayers go out to those people and to their families as well.

Several US lawmakers also condemned the dastardly act.
