According to NSP 17 teenagers died in auto crashes last year- those deaths could have been prevented had the teens been wearing seat belts. Nationally there were 1,972 teen drivers of passenger vehicles involved in fatal motor vehicle traffic crashes in 2015.

The New Jersey Motor Vehicle Commission (MVC) is joining with the National Highway Traffic Safety Administration (NHTSA) during National Teen Driver Safety Week (Oct. 15-21) to encourage all parents to talk to their teen drivers about the rules of the road.
