Those chosen few include classics like North by Northwest and All About Eve as well as more modern critical darlings like Man on Wire and Greta Gerwig's new film, Lady Bird, which joined the ranks of the 100 percenters just a few weeks ago. About 87% of the audience rated it 3.5 stars or better.

According to the film review aggregation site, the story of Christine McPherson's (Saoirse Ronan) senior year of Catholic high school has a 100 percent score after 170 positive reviews - "and counting", the site notes. The more positive "fresh" reviews from critics, the higher a film's Rotten Tomato rating will be. Walt Disney's Thor: Ragnarok actually has 277 "Fresh" reviews this year, along with 24 "Rotten" reviews, for an overall score of 92%, while fellow indie film The Big Sick received 233 positive reviews, and a score of 98%, earlier this year.

And as Lady Bird emphatically responds: "It is enough!"

Originally released in just two cities, "Lady Bird" expanded to theaters nationwide November 24.
