YouTube reportedly launching new paid music streaming service in March 2018

YouTube has not had a successful run like Spotify, which has almost 140 million monthly users or Apple, which has over 30 million subscribers, when it comes to paid music service. Of course, there are other local music streaming services as well, but they are not as big or better than Apple Music and Spotify.

Google wants a piece of the pie that Spotify and Apple Music are now enjoying.

According to some reports, the new YouTube Music service will be called Remix.

YouTube is going to release its own Music Services in the upcoming March month in the year 2018. Additionally, you will also be able to stream out that particular music from the YouTube app.

Since YouTube is yet to sign up two major music labels, one has to wait and watch if the launch of this new service will take place in March.

"We believe Google is likely positioning itself to launch a product similar to the Echo Show, bringing together voice and display, and that this type of product will ultimately only be successful if YouTube access is provided", Youssef Squali, a SunTrust Robinson Humphrey analyst, said in a note to clients. Previously, Google introduced audio-only streaming service Google Play Music in 2011 and YouTube Music Key in 2014, which was later morphed into YouTube Red in 2016. This way, YouTube might overcome the criticism accusing it of not offering enough benefits to artists and labels by streaming their music for free, but with ads.

With this new service, YouTube not only aims to rival Apple Music and Spotify, but also wants to appease the music industry and try to compensate them well - something for which the company has been criticized a lot before. Apart from this, the company is in talks with independent label consortium Merlin to be linked in it as well. For the very same reason, the giant is combining all the other services and to come out with a universal one through the all new Remix. If yes, which service do you prefer, and why?
