Ibrahimovic Hints at World Cup Comeback, Mourinho Immediately Throws Shade

Jose Mourinho insists he "wants" Marouane Fellaini to stay at Manchester United but accepts the Belgian midfielder may end up leaving.

Ibrahimovic retired from Swedish duty after their elimination from the group stages at Euro 2016, and some fans had hoped that the 35-year-old would end his exile to make one last finals appearance for his national side.

It's been quite a day for Zlatan Ibrahimovic fans: first the legendary striker reveals that the World Cup is not out of the question; then Jose Mourinho announces his days with the Red Devils are numbered.

United face Crystal Palace on Monday before a vital Premier League clash with fierce rivals Liverpool, who they lead in second by two points, next Saturday at Old Trafford.

"For Zlatan, we all think it's his last season at Manchester United and it will be a very personal decision for him to play or to stop", said Mourinho. Only that very bad injury in the wrong moment broke a fantastic couple of seasons he could - and should have had - with us.

The Swede has struggled with injuries this season, failing to fully recover from the serious knee injury picked up last April.

Donald Trump Feuds With Alec Baldwin, or "Alex Baldwin", on Twitter
Trump has since replaced the un-copyedited tweet with a new one, but " Alex Baldwin " still appears to be trending, unfortunately. It's past time for Trump to channel his anger not at " Alex Baldwin " or comedy shows and instead direct it squarely at Putin.

"This season has been really hard for him", Mourinho added. He only wants to be back with that feeling of: "I'm totally ready for it". I don't want to come just because I'm somebody.

Moving from his club future to his worldwide future, Sweden's all-time leading goalscorer retired from the national team after EURO 2016 but calls for him to go to the 2018 World Cup this summer are mounting. "When I can do what I want to, I'll have other thoughts", he said.

He has already featured seven times for the Red Devils in 2018 and Mourinho said: 'Real evolution but I think it is a effect of his profile as a boy and I think people around him are the right people.

Mourinho said it is not clear whether he will retire from football for good in the summer.

"My advice to him is not about national teams, is not about that", Mourinho told a news conference on Friday. "That means it's tempting to play in the United States", Ibrahimovic said, adding that his knee felt "good".
