A Palestinian young man died of his wounds suffered during clashes with Israeli soldiers on Friday afternoon in the West Bank, local medics said. The Palestinian Authority's official news site Wafa has identified the man as 24-year-old Mohammad Zain al-Jabari.

According to prisoners rights group Addameer, there were 6,119 Palestinian prisoners being held in Israeli custody as of February. There were no reports of injuries to IDF forces.

Meanwhile, at least four people were wounded in the Gaza Strip on Friday, one of them seriously, in clashes along the border with Israel, the health ministry in the Palestinian enclave said.

The occupied Palestinian territories have witnessed a new wave of tension ever since US President Donald Trump announced his decision on December 6 previous year to recognize Jerusalem al-Quds as the Zionist entity's capital and relocate the US embassy in Israel from Tel Aviv to the occupied city.
