Appearing on Entertainment Tonight, the Deadpool actor said: "Oh, I'm Mr". And yet here we are, with me left feeling confused as well as amused. Reynolds carries the movie on his back-although this time around he should have shared the load a little more evenly with some of his talented co-stars.

Ryan is known for his humor, but is he as amusing at home as he is in his movies? No, Domino is virtually nothing like her "Atlanta" character, Vanessa, but this actress just demands you notice her work. "It was so amusing!"

'End of career, and yet you're still going. Why? Of course, this is too domestic for a movie titled Deadpool 2, so bodies hit the floor fairly quickly, putting our masked man on a collision course with death.

To be clear: the film has problems. Be sure to tell us all of your thoughts in the comment section down below! Deadpool 2, on the other hand, is comparatively straight-laced. The movie's problem feels very akin to how I felt about Guardians of the Galaxy Vol. 2: The first film felt fresh and disruptive in an increasingly predictable genre - producing more of the same can not not recreate that feeling. It may not be as refreshingly clever as the first Deadpool, but it certainly delivers in laughs and lunacy. On a purely surface level, Deadpool was an ugly film, awash in grays and muted tones. Assuming that more films follow in the series, this sets the bar high.

Vulture also lambastes new-to-the-franchise director David Leitch (Atomic Blonde) for serving up CGI action that "is brutally edited and mostly undistinguished". I do see him as being a part of X-Force, obviously. He is always making jokes and making fun of himself and everyone around him.

Now let's talk about the movie getting bigger or not. Again, Miller's background is in visual arts, so a lot of his action scenes looked like boring, CGI-laden nonsense that was cooked up on a computer via previz. And given the fact that Dave Leitch comes from a stunt background, he is flawless for this. Does the motormouth charm and wry super-charisma of Deadpool/Reynolds sufficiently counterbalance the rough hit-or-miss quotient of the jokes? Hilarious! (No, it's not.) The jokes in the first Deadpool are spaced out, and nearly uniformly unamusing. At one point, Deadpool even jests that luck is a deeply uncinematic ability while ironically one of coolest sequences in the movie plays out.

With an unbeatable Ryan Reynolds in charge and a hilarious, self-aware script driving the madness, Deadpool 2 shakes off the stigma of a superhero sequel and lands coolly on its feet. It can be exhausting at times, but ultimately, it all works out because the jokes are actually amusing.

Oh yeah, I can't imagine anyone else. The jolt is not that it happens but that a movie that carries itself like the smartest, most cutting critic of pop-culture cliche asks us to invest in the oldest and cheapest. It's never as amusing as it thinks it is, but it's amusing all the same.

As our own Michael Walsh recently pointed out, the Deadpool of X-Men Origins: Wolverine is the worst ever introduction of a hero and a tragic mishandling of the character.

"Is Deadpool 2 obnoxious?" That sounds far more intriguing than seeing the Merc with a Mouth teaming up with Spider-Man in Avengers 5. He is in the moment and you have to play along with him.

Meanwhile, Cable (Josh Brolin) arrives from the future armed with a big gun and a charred teddy bear (which belonged to his dead daughter) determined to hunt down and terminate Russell. So it's hard to get a real sense of the world Cable was born into or what his character is really about beyond his cliched presentation. Julian Dennison is talented. I'm fine with that.

Like Deadpool's first outing, the pillar of this movie is a strong cast and some excellent performances. "It would be pretty cool if they didn't make a sequel to that!" So in case the headline doesn't answer the question about Deadpool 2 being better than the first one, here's our review for you. As of now, I'm hoping I'll get to do a third film. Not every one of them lands with grace, but when they do, you just don't stop cackling!

I loved how they made fun of dubstep, and it had one of the funniest closing credits segments in years. And perhaps that's Deadpool 2's greatest achievement.
