Asus ROG Phone could be the 2018 smartphone for gamers

But that's exactly what the firm did, showing off a phone under its Republic of Gamers (RoG) sub-brand more commonly associated with powerful laptops, graphics cards, displays and motherboards.

The Asus Phone features a 6-inch full HD+ AMOLED display, which comes thin bezels and an aspect ratio of 18:9.

If you've been clamouring for a smartphone that's tailored to the needs of serious mobile gaming, Asus has come up trumps.

Enabling a lot of the insane tricks on the ROG Phone is the addition of extra ports (including USB-C) on the side of the device. 8GB of RAM are included along with either 128GB or a whopping 512GB of internal storage. If you're anxious about thermal throttling, ASUS has taken steps to ensure that won't be happening by including vapor-chamber cooling and copper heat spreading to dissipate heat quicker than most phones. It's also got a 3D vapour chamber inside and, the charger sports a smart temperature managed charging system. Not only has Asus accounted for the awkwardness of using headphone and charging cables in landscape mode by providing ports on the right side, but the ROG Phone also takes mobile gaming a step further by offering the capability to imitate several varieties of gaming platform with a number of docking stations.
