The father of Olympic champion Katie Taylor has has been injured in a shooting at his boxing club.

Gardaí can confirm that a 30-year-old man has died following a shooting incident.

Gardai are searching for a suspect who fled the scene in either a silver or a white van.

While two other men, who're are 35 and 57, have been rushed to hospital after also being shot.

Mr Taylor is thought to be in a serious but not life threatening condition.

It is understood the father of three was shot as he answered the door of the gym, he was pronounced dead at the scene.

Gardai in Bray are appealing to the public for information about a silver coloured Volkswagon Caddy with Northern Irish reg plates that is believed to have been used by the shooter.

His daughter, Katie, is the woman's unified lightweight champion and won gold at the 2012 London Olympics.
