The Oklahoma City Thunder finally parted ways with Carmelo Anthony, but it sounds like veteran forward will receive a similar fate with his new team.

For a while now, and leading up to the deal that sent him from Oklahoma City to Atlanta, reports have suggested that the Houston Rockets are a clear favorite to land Melo.

Shams Charania of Yahoo! Secondly, Anthony himself is best buds with recently re-signed Rockets star Chris Paul. Anthony is also considering the Heat, according to ESPN.

Moving on from Anthony, while taking back Schroder and Luwawu-Cabarrot, means Oklahoma City dropped its payroll to $148.7 million.

It remains to be seen whether Schroder will face a similar exit, but he does fill a need for the Thunder as a secondary creator who can play with and without Russell Westbrook. The 2022 first-round pick is protected 1-14, and becomes two second-round picks if not conveyed in that first year, league sources said.

It was a relatively complicated deal with the third team coming in, but each team accomplished something through the trade.
