What to Expect from Apple's New iPhones--All 3 of Them

In early 2016, the company reported a new milestone: 1 billion active devices. Rumors tip all three iPhone models will have a gesture-based control system that Apple launched previous year after replacing the home button.

The Apple A12 is expected to use TSMC's new 7nm process, which fits more transistors into each square millimetre. Alphabet's Google also plans to debut new Pixel phones on October 9 at a media event in New York City, other people familiar with the plans said. Similar to the MacBook Pro, this new entry-level MacBook might possibly drop all the existing ports (MagSafe 2, USB 3, SD Card slot, Thunderbolt) in favor of a single USB-C port.

The current rumors show that this budget-friendly iPhone will come with a bigger screen and features that combine iPhone 8 with iPhone X. Of course, Apple could opt to call it the iPhone 8S but that shouldn't make any difference.

It will come in several colors, include an aluminum (rather than stainless steel) case, and feature a cheaper LCD display.

Now, the expected launch of two successors of iPhone X, with one featuring a 6.5-inch screen, could help boost Apple's core business revenue. While there are numerous third-party styluses for the iPhone, however, Apple has so far refused to deliver a native pen for the smartphone. However, that name is consistent with Apple's recent naming practices.

These features will be truly groundbreaking, making the Apple Watch a must-have accessory for people with heart issues and diabetics. New functionality was introduced along with the iPhone 6s and iPhone 6s Plus.

From a broader perspective, industry observers believe the new models could prompt more users to upgrade their smartphones, especially as many service contracts with mobile operators are due for expiry. They are expected to have haptic-enabled buttons like the home buttons on iPhone 7 and 8. This would keep it the same physical size of the 9.7-inch iPad. By using electrodes around the edge of the smartwatch's display, watchOS could measure how much pressure was being applied to the screen.

Finally, there's the Mac.

Bloomberg's report suggests the latter will be true. And Apple needs something new to boost its tablet sales on the market.

To this end, Bloomberg is reporting that Apple will offer processor and other hardware upgrades to the iMac and other Macintosh computers along with significant upgrades to the Mac Mini.

Let's hope for the best that the price of the phone will not be so high. Because the Mac Mini ships without a screen, keyboard or mouse, it's popular in industrial applications as well as in the enterprise where space is at a premium.

Here's the thing, though: Apple has never done well selling the "good" phones in its lineup.

Users will also see a watch with redesigned and more physically sound buttons.
