The report adds sources are skeptical of whether coach Tom Thibodeau actually wants to make a deal for his star player and things are "volatile" in Minnesota right now.

The Jimmy Butler trade saga continues with whispers about the shooting guard potentially relocating to Miami.

According to ESPN, the Timberwolves are seeking quality veterans, top prospects, future assets and cap relief.

"So far, there's been no team close to willing to meet Thibodeau's massive return for a Butler deal", ESPN reported. A host of teams are interested in trading for Butler, but Minnesota's demands for, well, just about everything under the sun reportedly have caused potential suitors to doubt the team is negotiating in good faith.

Reports have indicated that Miami has been aggressive in negotiations since Butler announced his desire to be traded, even as he left the Heat off his initial list. But Butler and his agent Bernie Lee have informed Timberwolves ownership that Butler's preferred destination is Miami, according to The New York Times, citing unidentified league sources.

Butler shocked the National Basketball Association last week when he requested that the Timberwolves - who just a year earlier landed the superstar in a draft-night deal with the Chicago Bulls - trade him once again.

Butler, meanwhile, took a physical with the Wolves on Monday before Thibodeau declared that the player is still doing rehab work after having minor surgery on his hand during the offseason.

Other teams have expressed interest in Butler, including the Clippers, Rockets, Cavaliers, Nets, Wizards and Mavericks, per Wojnarowski.
