Senate panel receives new Kavanaugh allegations

US Supreme Court nominee Brett Kavanaugh has emphatically fended off new accusations of sexual misconduct ahead of a charged public Senate hearing that could determine whether Republicans can salvage his nomination and enshrine a high court conservative majority.

Attorney Michael Avenatti, best known for representing adult entertainer Stormy Daniels against Donald Trump, asserted on Monday that one of his clients saw the inappropriate behavior Kavanaugh and his friend Mark Judge were known for while in high school.

The woman also made other accusations in her statement.

Julie Swetnick has been identified as the third woman accusing Brett Kavanaugh of sexual misconduct.

Adult film actress Stormy Daniels, left, stands with her lawyer Michael Avenatti as she speaks outside federal court, in NY.

Swetnick said she was a victim of one of those incidents in the early 1980s and that Kavanaugh and Judge had been present, though she did not say whether they had sex with her. She does not say Kavanaugh himself assaulted her.

A spokeswoman for Senate Judiciary Chairman Chuck Grassley (R-IA) said that, "This morning Michael Avenatti provided a declaration to the Judiciary Committee". Mazzon said Ford told her about her encounter over dinner in June 2013, while White learned of it in 2017. Two other women, Christine Blasey Ford and Deborah Ramirez, have come forward with their own allegations against Kavanaugh.

She said that Kavanaugh's declaration of "innocence" and lack of sexual inactivity in high school on Fox News is a lie. The allegations directly contradict Kavanaugh's categorical denials.

In addition to Ford, another female has told the press that Kavanaugh revealed his private parts to her while they were both in Yale University.

Swetnick did not identify Kavanaugh or Judge as her attacker in that incident.

It's unclear if the calendars will affect the opinions of senators on the Judiciary Committee about Christine Blasey Ford's allegation.

Clune said Ramirez would be willing to testify before the committee if asked, but that he was unsure whether she would do it without an FBI investigation first.

"The Republicans could not be nicer, could not be more respectful to the process". She said in her statement that there are two witnesses who can attest to her account, but she has not identified them publicly.

Swetnick writes, "There is no question in my mind that Mark Judge has significant information concerning the conduct of Brett Kavanaugh during the 1980s, especially as it relates to his actions toward women".
