Youtube outage faces Global confusion and access problems

YouTube's sudden outage left many users in despair after the site went down for nearly two hours.

The Google-owned streaming service has been offline now for more than an hour, with website-outage tracker registering a spike in complaints just after 11:15am AEST.

Earlier today, YouTube, YouTube Music, and YouTube TV experienced an intermittent outage.

YouTube said on Twitter that it is working on the problem but did not explain what happened. "We apologize for any inconvenience this may cause and will keep you updated", it tweeted.

YouTube, touted be the world's second most visited website was reported down with Error 500 and depending on regions; it ranged between 120 to 90 minutes. YouTube TV and Music was also affected by the service disruption.

According to website tracker DownDetector, the outrage was reported from many parts of the world (including India), as the problem still appears to persist in parts of the USA and Japan. Police in the U.S. state of Pennsylvania posted a tweet urging members of the public not to call the emergency services over the fault.

Around 6:30PM PDT/9:30PM EDT, YouTube went down and people weren't sure what to do with themselves.
