Megyn Kelly Is Done At NBC After Her Blackface Remarks

The 47-year-old journalist's NBC talk show is reportedly over after she was widely criticized on Tuesday for defending using blackface in Halloween costumes.

Kelly, formerly a Fox News host, has made inflammatory comments in the past, including in 2013, when she declared that Santa Claus and Jesus were both white men, said Page Six.

Megyn Kelly's future at NBC is uncertain after reports say her show is coming to an end.

Her ratings were poor and she was disliked in-house for various reasons - her leapfrogging homegrown talent to get her own show, her Fox pedigree, her #MeToo comments about NBC veteran Matt Lauer.

"Megyn Kelly is done. You truly do get in trouble if you are a white person who puts on blackface at Halloween or a black person who puts on white face for Halloween", she asked a panel. She apologized for her comments on the following day's broadcast, but was absent from the show today, October 25. According to the publications, NBC network execs "think it might be flawless time to give her Today time slot to Kelly, who has a huge fan base and is extremely well-liked and relatable", a source told Radar.

"Sources confirm to that Kelly will not return to NBC airwaves".

Regardless of her employment status, Kelly will reportedly be paid her entire $69 million contract.

Kelly discussed the origins of her creatively spelled name with the website NameCandy in 2009. In 2015, Dr. Kendall spoke to the Daily Mail Online and denied ever being unfaithful to his ex-wife.

Following Kelly's controversial comments about dressing up in blackface on Halloween, the broadcaster apologized to her staff and on-air the next day, but her apology did not settle down the intense backlash online.

They also do not know how they are going to handle her exit from Today and where she goes from there.

Another source said that Kelly's show will be ending, but negotiations about the end date and other details are still underway.

In recent months, prior to the recent controversy, tensions have been growing between Kelly and NBC News management. Her representative confirmed she was switching to UTA, but then a spokesman for the company said they had decided not to represent her. "There is no place on our air or in this workplace for them. But no one was listening to what she was hinting at the entire time - which was that she wanted a schedule that would give her more time with her kids and allow her time to focus on specials", the source said.

Kelly defended people who don blackface costumes for Halloween.
