Trump dodges question on whether he has worked for Russian Federation

President Donald Trump said definitively on Monday he never worked for Russian Federation after offering a non-denial when questioned over the weekend about an FBI investigation into whether he was working with Moscow.

President Donald Trump went on an extended tirade Monday, detailing his many disappointments with the Federal Bureau of Investigation and former director James Comey in particular.

Trump's admission in the days following that Comey's dismissal had to do with the Russian Federation investigation, which Comey was overseeing, raised suspicions in the FBI, the report said.

"The liberal media has wasted two years trying to manufacture a fake collusion scandal instead of reporting the fact that unlike President Obama, who let Russian Federation and other foreign adversaries push America around, President Trump has actually been tough on Russian Federation".

Trump most recently made the claim following a published report that his behavior in the early months of his presidency gave federal law enforcement officials reason to begin investigating whether he had worked for Russian Federation against American interests.

"I couldn't care less", Trump said in an interview with Jeanine Pirro on Fox News on Saturday night.

"I think it's the most insulting article I've ever had written, and if you read the article you'll see that they found absolutely nothing, " he said.

These include his former national security adviser Michael Flynn; former Trump campaign chief Paul Manafort; and Trump's former personal lawyer Michael Cohen.

The reports come as Special Counsel Robert Mueller's investigation looms large in the background, punctuated by guilty pleas, convictions and indictments of former Trump associates.

As a result, USA officials said there is no detailed record, even in classified files, of Trump's face-to-face interactions with the Russian leader at five locations over the past two years.

The chairman of the House Foreign Affairs Committee, Democrat Eliot Engel, said in an interview with CNN on Monday that congress may have "no choice" but to subpoena the interpreter, after the Washington Post reported at the weekend that Trump had "seized" notes from the interpreter following the 2017 meeting, which was in Hamburg, Germany.
