Real Madrid Considering Seedorf For Interim Manager Role

Barcelona manager Ernesto Valverde has thrown his weight behind underfire Real Madrid boss amid sack rumours. earlier reported that Real Madrid manager Santiago Solari has explained that he will not walk away at the Spanish club despite Los Blancos' exit in the Champions League.

42-year-old Seedorf, who spent three-and-a-half seasons at Real Madrid between 1996 and 1999 was in the Spanish capital to watch two of his former clubs do battle in the Champions League.

Real Madrid went on to squander their 2-1 first leg lead over Ajax and suffer a 4-1 defeat at home to the young Dutch team, putting further threat on Solari's future.

It makes the contract he signed back in October, which doesn't run out until 2021, look absolutely foolish, especially given Real's penchant for sacking managers at the best of times.

"I give you [the] same answer as my first day here: we are all passing through here, and the most important for any coach, any team, is the next game", the Argentine said after arriving 80 minutes late for his pre-match press conference.

"I can not reveal what has been said in private, but I will repeat what I said on my first day here, which is that everyone here is just passing through, and the only objective we work towards is the next game", he said. "It has always been an honor to serve this club".

"The only objective we work towards is the next game".

"The chants? I am proud, but Real Madrid have a coach", he told El Chiringuito TV.

"The majority", Solari said.

"The ones who haven't, I have told them", he said when asked if his squad had been up to scratch recently.
