After almost accidentally announcing his plans in a weekend speech, several people familiar with his plans tell CBS News that Biden has started phoning potential donors this week who can help him raise millions of dollars, fast.

Former Vice President Joe Biden hasn't yet announced he's running for president - officially, that is.

[D] uring those calls, some high-profile donors told Biden that they will not commit to bundling for him, at least in the early stages of the primary, said the people, who declined to be named.

The sources asked to remain anonymous because of the confidential nature of the ongoing discussions. After referring to himself as part of the field of presidential hopefuls, he corrected himself, saying instead that he could run.

"Early polling has Joe Biden, the former Vice-President, ahead of President Donald Trump".
