Here’s How Republicans Are Reacting To The Mueller Report’s Completion

He said he will now consult with Deputy Attorney General Rosenstein - who managed the inquiry prior to Mr Barr's appointment - and Mr Mueller "to determine what other information from the report can be released to Congress and the public".

As Washington waited in collective anticipation on Friday for the expected imminent transfer of special counsel Robert Mueller's report to the Department of Justice, President Donald Trump also said he was in the dark about the timing.

In a letter to Congress, Mr Barr said he may be able to report back the principal conclusions by the weekend. Or is it because Mueller has concluded, James Comey style, that Trump did collude and/or interfere but that his conduct doesn't rise to the level of a crime?

Special counsel Robert Mueller has concluded his investigation into Russian election interference and possible coordination with associates of President Donald Trump.

Earlier this month, the House voted unanimously for a non-binding resolution to make the report's findings public.

The Mueller report is done, and has been delivered.

And it's not like the House GOP couldn't have found a fig leaf here to justify opposing the resolution on "principled" grounds. House Republicans supported the measure, but said it was unnecessary because it restated what's already required by law.

What exactly was Mueller investigating again? . One element of the investigation is whether Trump's firing of Comey amounted to obstruction of justice. Mueller's team has been notoriously mum on offering any public details of what the report says or even when it would be completed.

Justice Department regulations governing special counsels adopted in 1999 give Barr, the top US law enforcement official, broad discretion in deciding how much to release to Congress and the public.

Barr wrote in his letter that Justice Department leaders never told the special counsel throughout the investigation a proposed action should not be pursued.

The White House said that the next steps are up to Attorney General Barr and President Trump had not been briefed on the report.

Rosenstein appointed the special counsel after Trump fired FBI Director James Comey, who was leading an investigation into possible collusion between the Trump campaign and Russian Federation. Is it because Mueller has concluded that the US president can't be indicted while in office? Comey was sacked by President Trump at the recommendation of deputy attorney general Rod Rosenstein in order to help "restore public confidence in the FBI" after Comey's botched handling of the Hillary Clinton email investigation. But Mueller's findings could amplify the liberal voices in the House Democratic caucus already calling for Trump's impeachment.

Michael Cohen, Trump's former attorney and fixer, was sentenced in December to three years in prison after pleading guilty to federal campaign finance violations, including over "hush money" payments to two women who said they had sexual encounters with Trump. Everybody knows it. It's all a big hoax.
