The 19-year-old, who won the European F3 title last year and is a member of Ferrari's young driver academy, will also test Alfa Romeo's new vehicle on the Wednesday.

"We are very pleased to announce that Mick Schumacher and Callum Ilott will each complete a rookie test day for Alfa Romeo Racing", said in a statement Frédéric Vasseur, Alfa Romeo team principal.

After winning the European F3 title Schumacher has moved up to Formula Two where he is set for his debut on the weekend on the Bahrain circuit in Sakhir - which is his top priority.

Prior to that, Michael had established himself as the Scuderia's most successful driver to date, having won 72 races, five back-to-back drivers' titles and six consecutive constructors' championships with the team. "Collaborating with two such promising drivers is great news for our team, and we look forward to working together".

He also won a record of 91 grands prix, which is an incredible feat.

While Mick Schumacher has never driven a modern-day Formula 1 auto before, he has sampled his father's 1994 Benetton at Spa during a demo run a couple of years back.

Schumacher will make his Formula 2 series debut this weekend in Bahrain.

"We are firm believers in the value of the Ferrari Driver Academy, as a high-level training programme for talented youngsters, and the decision to give Charles Leclerc a race seat with our team is proof of that", Ferrari boss Mattia Binotto said.

His uncle Ralf Schumacher, also a former F1 driver, meanwhile called for patience as Mick Schumacher works his way up the racing tiers.
