Linda McMahon is leaving Small Business Administration

Linda McMahon will step down from leading the Small Business Administration to help raise money for President Donald Trump's re-election campaign.

Along with her husband, Vince, McMahon ran the hugely successful World Wrestling Entertainment company, negotiating television rights and merchandising contracts.

The former Republican Senate candidate is expected to return to the private sector following her resignation, however, it is not clear in what capacity, according to Politico.

A longtime friend of Trump's, McMahon donated about $7 billion to a political action committee that supported Trumps' candidacy for the White House.

All three positions have so far been filled with acting replacements, not permanent ones.

McMahon is widely known in CT for her campaigns for U.S. Senate. McMahon served as the chief executive officer at WWE.

McMahon, who was confirmed by the Senate as SBA administrator in February 2017, was among Trump's original Cabinet members. She regularly travels around the country to promote the president's agenda, including recent trips to promote the new U.S. -Mexico-Canada trade deal. The two Democratic senators she ran against, Richard Blumenthal and Chris Murphy, supported her nomination.
